When it comes to anti-aging treatments, many aesthetic practices take an approach that can look unnatural or forced. This is because many of the treatments they administer exclusively address facial wrinkles while neglecting to soften the signs of aging in other areas of the body. One often neglected body part is the hands. With hand rejuvenation, patients can address the discoloration and volume loss in this area, softening and refining their appearance.

At Palmetto Vein & Aesthetic Center, we’re proud to provide our patients with a comprehensive selection of vein treatments and aesthetic services. What is Hand Rejuvenation?

Only second to the face, the hands are the area of the body most prone to the development of wrinkles, fine lines, and discoloration. This is because the hands are often left exposed to harsh environmental elements that can increase the speed of skin aging. Even if the rest of your complexion is smooth and wrinkle-free, your hands may give away your actual age. With hand rejuvenation, patients can correct volume loss, wrinkles, and sunspots in this area using two minimally invasive procedures — RADIESSE® and IPL.

How Does it Work?

At Palmetto Vein & Aesthetic Center, we offer a two-step procedure for hand rejuvenation. Treatment begins with RADIESSE® injections into strategic locations across the tops of the hands. This dermal filler is comprised of Calcium Hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. Upon injection, this product brings instant volume and fullness to the hands, softening fine lines and wrinkles in the area. The results of this injection can bring patients results that last up to two years.

Following these injections, patients are given between one and two weeks to heal. Once this healing process is over, patients are brought back into our office to receive an IPL treatment. Also known as intense pulsed light therapy, IPL uses high-intensity impulses of visible light to break up pigmentation in the deep layers of the skin, improving the overall texture and tone of the hands.
